Juan Siddi
Theatre Flamenco special guest artist

His endurance was phenomenal, especially in the zapateado sections of his big Act 2 solo, where his feet made sounds ranging from a butterfly-delicate tap to a hammering that sounded like the fist of God at the door.

The New Mexican’s Magazine Pasatiempo by Craig Smith July, 2008

The controlled power, thundering footwork and blood-boiling music of this tightly knit company distills centuries of tradition into an unforgettable couple of hours. Choreographer and lead dancer, Juan Siddi, exudes an aura of alpha authority to match his unbelievable footwork, both in ensemble and solo presentations.

"Yo Soy!" School Programs / Lecture Demonstrations

San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding areas...
Theatre Flamenco has been working in the schools for over 25 years and has entertained and exposed hundreds, if not thousands, of young minds to the art of all forms of Spanish dance.

For the school presentations, called “Yo Soy!”, Theatre Flamenco brings a guitarist, a singer, and two dancers. We give a forty-five minute lecture/demonstration about Spanish dance, including the castanets, the dresses, the footwork, and the history of the development of flamenco. We also involve the students by teaching them the rhythms of flamenco through palmas (hand clapping).

The excitement, color, and brilliance of Theatre Flamenco’s presentation is an excellent tool to excite young minds and inspire them. The response to Theatre Flamenco’s lecture/demonstrations are always enthusiastic, both from the students and the administrators.

Please welcome Theatre Flamenco to your school! We would love to entertain and teach you about the wonders of flamenco.
To book Theatre Flamenco in your school, please call (415) 826-1305.
